While offering personalized makeup application and consultations, I was also able to sell a large variety of specialized and imported makeup products from the store’s boutique in the city center.
I succeeded in selling the brand’s products to and doing private makeup appointments for people of all nationalities in English and Spanish as a freelancer & staff artist in many high-volume locations in New York City, including the opening of the Times Square store, while maintaining my sales goals. Also, I was the ‘Viva Glam Chairperson” for the Times Square location. Finally, I organized charity events (Teen Pridefest) through M.A.C. and volunteered my skills for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (Broadway Bares 2010/2011, Broadway Cares events with ABC Daytime Soap Opera Stars 2010, Easter Bonnet 2011), and for AIDS victims in various clinics around New York City.
I was in charge of the design and the application of the makeup for this burlesque show at the legendary La Mama Theater by directing the makeup team for each show.
Based on Japanese theatre masks, I designed and taught the makeup’s application for the seven actors.
Lex Liang, the designer, hired me help him before and during the parade to create the characters’ makeup.
I designed age-appropriate makeup (i.e. old age, youth, etc.) for all of the actors in this film and also applied the makeup for the actors on set for each scene. I was also in charge of buying and organizing all of the makeup and special effects materials before and during the shoot.
Researching, designing, and then teaching the period-specific and age-appropriate makeup designs to the cast were my responsibilities for the run of the production while also buying all of the supplies.
I worked with the wig and makeup head, Rick Jarvey, reproducing chorus and secondary character makeup and wig designs for each performance of PARSIFAL, DIE ZAUBERFLÖUTE, and AIDA.
I collaborated with professor Molly McGrath teaching as her assistant curriculum for the year: bone structure, age makeup, character makeup, and fantasy makeup. I took over the class as professor in her absence.
Based on an antique photo, I created and did all of the actors’ makeup so as to recreate the montage where it was originally taken for this site-specific art piece in downtown Chicago.
